FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Geryah Dingle Releases Groove-Driven Synth-Pop Single “Truth Comes Sideways” on May 15, 2026

Clearwater, FL – Indie contemporary Christian and pop artist Geryah Dingle returns with “Truth Comes Sideways,” a groove-driven synth-pop single arriving May 15, 2026, on all major streaming platforms. Blending intimate storytelling with 80s-inspired percussion, live-band instrumentation, and emotionally transparent lyricism, the track continues the expanding emotional and sonic direction of Dingle’s upcoming RUPTURE project.

Written independently by Dingle on February 8, 2026, and recorded at Clear Track Studios, “Truth Comes Sideways” explores the complicated reality that people rarely say exactly what they mean or feel the first time. Inspired by personal relational work and reflections on emotional safety, the song centers on the idea that truth often arrives imperfectly—through hesitation, emotion, silence, misinterpretation, and repeated attempts to connect.

“A lot of this song came from thinking about how people communicate when they don’t fully feel safe yet,” says Geryah. “Truth doesn’t always arrive clearly or directly. Sometimes it comes sideways. Sometimes you say it wrong, misunderstand each other, or have to come back around to it later. The song became about creating space where someone can still be honest even when the words don’t come out perfectly.”

Sound and Style

Built around warm live instrumentation and groove rather than vocal power, “Truth Comes Sideways” blends layered 80s-inspired percussion, synth textures, electric guitars, and close, conversational vocals into a sound that sits between modern pop, indie pop, and synth-pop.

From the beginning, Dingle envisioned the track as an 80s-influenced pop song with the warmth and movement of a live band. Drawing inspiration from the emotional intimacy and groove-forward production of artists like Olivia Dean, Kacey Musgraves, and Phoebe Bridgers, the production balances rhythmic momentum with emotional restraint.

Produced by Steve Kinney at a mid-tempo 94 BPM, the track leans into movement and atmosphere while allowing the lyrics to remain front and center.

“One of the biggest things Steve helped me do was marry the lyrics to the groove in my own voice,” says Geryah. “Especially in verse two—we spent extra time shaping that section until it felt settled and honest. The original version actually had different lyrics, but I sat with the groove over a weekend and came back with something that felt much more grounded and fully interpreted through my own lens.”

A Song About Emotional Safety

Lyrically, “Truth Comes Sideways” traces the movement from emotional activation toward emotional steadiness.

The first verse captures tension and reactive communication through lines like:

“Push my buttons / Light a fire / Lead with emotion…”

while the second verse shifts into containment and safety:

“No pushin’ buttons, no mixed-up lines / No fannin’ fires in my mind…”

That contrast becomes the emotional hinge of the song—moving from confusion and emotional overload toward presence, patience, and trust.

Using recurring imagery of an open hand and the repeated refrain:

“If the truth comes in sideways / Let it out
Any weight that you’re holding / Lay it down”

the song ultimately becomes an invitation toward honesty, healing, and staying present long enough for someone to be fully seen.

Introducing the World of RUPTURE

Blending groove-driven pop production with emotionally transparent songwriting, the track sets the tone for a project that explores what happens after emotional pressure breaks something open: the movement from reaction and misunderstanding toward clarity, honesty, and connection.
